India gets its own licensing show

India Licensing Expo (ILE), India’s first and most influential brand licensing show will take place on August 20-21 in Mumbai with participation from over 100 global and domestic companies.

India Licensing Expo will offer a full range of licensing ecosystem with over 20,000 visitors expected to attend over two days. The event would include a conference, exclusive master class for limited 25 delegates culminating into an awards night across categories.

In order to specifically tap the top French enterprises doing business in India, ILE has also tied up with Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI). This opens gates for the French companies to evaluate and roll into India through licensing.

WWE launches WWE shop in India

WWE has launched WWE Shop, the official online source of WWE merchandise in India.This announcement was made just in time of WrestleMania.

The launch of WWEShop.in is the result of a license agreement between WWE and e-commerce partner, The Souled Store.

This agreement marks the first time authentic WWE Superstar apparel, their signature accessories and WWE replica championship titles will be available in India.

The online store will retail WWE merchandise including authentic WWE Superstar apparel and accessories, WWE replica championship titles, toys, console games, collectibles, trading cards, stationery among many other things.

Commenting on the said announcement, Casey Collins, WWE Executive Vice President, Consumer Products said,”We have a massive WWE fan base in India that deserves a personalised WWE Shop.We are also thrilled to be able to provide one to them in advance of WrestleMania.”

WWE Shop.in will launch the same day as WrestleMania will be broadcast live in India on April 3, the wrestling tournament will be held at the Orlando Citrus Bowl.

Yuvraj Singh invests in Gurukul

Cricketer Yuvraj Singh has backed another startup by investing an undisclosed amount in a co-working start-up Creator’s Gurukul. This is the third investment made by Yuvraj Singh’s YouWeCan Ventures. Earlier, YouWeCan Ventures invested in other startups like EduKart, EazyDiner and Healthians.

The Delhi-based startup Gurukul has been co-founded by entrepreneurs Abhinav Tandon and Mohammed Sirajuddin, The enterprise has based its model on shared office spaces.

Gurukul offers co-working spaces that are a unique amalgamation of nature and technology to provide an enriching environment promoting collaboration, innovation and a more productive work culture.

Commenting on the development, Abhinav Tandon, co-founder of Gurukul said, “It has indeed been an exhilarating time for us. We have spent a lot of time in researching the nature of the business, prepare a disruptive business model, onboarding the right strategic team and we have now been able to bring one of India’s favorite icons on-board to kick start the announcements.”

The startup’s first co-working center with over 500 seats is located in Gurugram. It plans to set up two more centers in Mangalore and Delhi by the end of the year.

Sharing his excitement, Yuvraj Singh said, “Creator’s Gurukul has mixed all the right ingredients and global alliances to create the new age work places ideally suited for modern day requirements.”
